About OKA

Our Founders

When Annabel Astor set about decorating her summer home, she found the market for furniture and accessories was seriously lacking. You could buy staple pieces in plain shades and shapes, but Annabel wanted her new home to have real character, classic style and a sense of story behind it.

A serial entrepreneur with a successful career in creative industries behind her, Annabel enlisted the help of her two close friends with equally innovative backgrounds, Lucinda Waterhouse and Sue Jones.
Directors
Together they created OKA as you know it today: a brand which chooses timeless design over current trends and gives modern staples a traditional twist. It caters to both bohemian chic as well as smart and serious, with pieces inspired by the East and adapted for life in the West.

"OKA is a stylish solution to any interior dilemma.
The range is broad and there is really something for everyone in it."
Vogue Logo

OKA was originally founded in 1999 as a mail order interiors company specialising in hand-crafted rattan accessories and storage. These pieces were inspired by the three founders’ extensive travels around the world to discover the most skilled craftspeople and most innovative designs.
Rattan accessories and furniture
At the turn of the new millennium, OKA opened its doors to their first store in Parson’s Green, West London. It was an immediate hit and over the next decade, OKA stores arrived in some of the UK’s prettiest market towns such as Harrogate, Broadway and Froxfield.

The company swiftly established itself as a well-known British luxury brand and grew rapidly online with additions such as an Interior Design Service, a Wedding List with Prezola and collaborations with other creatives and businesses.

Today OKA is a household name known for its quality, innovation and unwavering sense of style.
