This season, we welcome back a few pieces that have been re-invented: old favourites updated in new colours, sizes or finishes, for even more versatility across your interiors. Say hello to the ‘new’ classics (and bonus points if you remember the original versions)...
The Malmo range first appeared in 2005, offering simple Scandinavian-inspired styling for bedrooms. The first incarnation of the Malmo Headboard featured a padded central panel which could be covered in your own choice of fabric, but in the current version, this has been replaced by one woven from cane for a more modern feel that better suits the range. The best-selling dressing table/desk (previously only available in painted Flax) now comes in Brushed Clay with the edges defined in cream for a two-toned finish.
Since we launched our Ashbourne Bench, we’ve received numerous requests from customers to make a smaller size. This season, we finally introduced a more compact version which is about half the size of our larger one - but by no means any less colourful. The new size is great for a tight hallway and could also be used as a dining bench, and the multi-coloured stripes are perfect for delivering a punch of colour in a neutral space.
Storage is an issue all homes face, no matter what their size. (We always seem to fill every inch of space available.) Our ever-popular Ashmolean Shelves now come in a narrower size, which can be mixed and matched with the tall and low versions for truly flexible wall-to-wall storage. We’ve also added Silver Birch and Rubbed Black to the colour options.
After a three year sabbatical, our immensely versatile Stack Shelves return. They first appeared in 2006 - the open style and small footprint a complete contrast to the large, grand bookshelves we stocked. This time around, they're available in our new Silver Birch finish and in four different sizes: tall, medium and low, plus a small side table. The updated version allows for the base to be removed so you can stack them one on top of the other for truly adaptable storage.
The Gustavian Side Table has been a stalwart of our collection since 2001, and its popularity has endured through the years because of its neat proportions (allowing it to squeeze into the smallest of spaces) and useful design (a lipped top and lower shelf), both of which offer stylish storage for a living room, bedroom or bathroom. This season, it comes in Chinese Red (as seen below) and Silver Birch.
