If you’ve children at school, you’ll be very aware (due to their uncontainable excitement) that the summer holidays are fast approaching. It’s always customary at the end of term to get your child’s class/favourite teacher a little present to say thank you, but does he or she really need 30 bottles of wine or boxes of chocolates? (Actually, they might appreciate the wine!) Still, we think it’s nicer and more personal to give them something special (and useful) that they can use year after year. Here are a few of our suggestions - from smart desk accessories to colourful crockery - all of which are under £50.
A new school term requires new stationery, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. These faux shagreen box files provide the ideal home for important papers and documents whilst also being chic and stylish.
A tidy desk equals a tidy mind (or so they say), and this small, leather pencil case will comfortably house a few pens and other marking essentials. Drawing pins, paperclips and elastic bands can all be kept together in this neat Rattan Tray.
A piece of crockery, such as bowl, plate or mug, also makes a lovely present. However, there are no ‘World’s Best Teacher’ mugs here - only our beautiful, patterned Florya Mugs (perfect for a morning cup of tea) and charmingly eclectic Shagreen Print Bowls.
Cheer up their desk with a faux plant or arrangement of flowers. Our miniature Orchid won’t take up much space and requires no watering at all (perfect for busy teachers), and this bunch of serene faux Cyclamen will still be thriving long after your child has left school!
We hope we’ve given you plenty of ideas of ways you can thank your children’s teacher. For more, visit our guide to favourite coffee table books, another fabulous and personal gift.
