Studies

The study is a room of one’s own, which should be filled corner to corner with timeless furniture and characterful home office decoration, allowing you to accomplish tasks in comfort and style. Here are a few study design ideas, including a sleek modern study complete with a mirrored desk and cool metal task lighting for reading and correspondence. If you’d prefer a rustic scheme, country-style study decoration involves lots of hand-made wooden furniture and bookshelves crammed full of your favourite reads.

Annabel took the view that you’re much more likely to accomplish tasks in a study that’s beautiful. She combined faux shagreen, leather and faux tortoiseshell finishes to create a room that is as elegant as it is practical. The result is an ideal reading spot: the Ashmolean Shelves are perfectly sized to hold rows of books and both the Zola Chair and reading lamp are fully adjustable.

The Founders turned this small room into a study. To make it appear bigger, they painted the walls white and placed a large mirror adjacent to the window, which reflects the natural light beautifully. An untidy room will always feel cramped, so the three Founders included a desk with drawers, a simple wastebasket and matching stationery holders, all finished in our elegant faux shagreen.
