All Things Bright and Beautiful

Decorating your home with half an eye to summer can really pay dividends during the warmer months. Even if you don’t fancy re-decorating, it needn’t be too difficult (or expensive) to give a room an instant, seasonal makeover. Switching dining chair covers, bedspreads or cushion covers can instantly transform your space and you could even consider lifting rugs and changing accessories to create the light, bright and airy feel that this house achieves so effortlessly.

Living Room

A light-filled living room is a joy at any time of year, and particularly in summer. The bare floors and windows in this summer living room serve to create a clean and unfussy background for a timeless scheme. At first glance it appears predominantly neutral, but the clever and restrained use of colour accents - the Chinoiserie Cabinet, the apricot cushions, the ceramic lamp and glints of gold on the mirror and coffee table - lift it far beyond the mundane.

Dining Room

Borrow from the tropics with a summer dining room that celebrates the rich turquoise of island seas and skies. Playful Palmetto Lamps on mirrored consoles suggest distant coconut palms, and exotic bird prints adorn the walls. A bountiful table overflowing with faux flowers, Duck Egg china and patterned glassware completes the transformation.

Master Bedroom

Creating a fairytale bedroom is much easier than you think. Here the addition of our Laurel Half Tester lifts a regular divan bed into the realm of dreams. And, to keep things really simple, we’ve used two of our scalloped, bordered Origo Bedspreads as drapes (so no need to dig out the sewing-machine). Finish with cushions and a quilt, et voilà!
