Go Tell It On The Mountain

When Sue Jones set herself the task of designing a family chalet in Aspen, she banned any cuckoo clocks from passing through the doors and this is the result. Immersed in a beautiful alpine valley, the chalet is comfortable, spacious and right next to the slopes. Rich, tactile fabrics and wooden furnishings bring warmth to every room and modern touches keep it slick, smart and sophisticated.

Master Bedroom

Go Tell It On The Mountain - Master Bedroom

The bedroom looks out onto the amazing scenery of the surrounding mountains. To add warmth to the room, Sue used several table lamps and layered tactile fabrics. The leather sofas and luxurious goat hair cushion covers tie the scheme together and make the room feel even more inviting.

Dining Room

The star of this spacious dining room has to be the grand wooden table, with its sturdy structure and ornate base. In this chalet, Sue cared about every tiny detail down to the beautiful tableware, elegant glassware and hedgehog place settings. Our Washakie Chairs were chosen for their unusual dream-catcher style backs and dark wooden frames.

Sitting Room

A room with a view and a spectacular one at that. The sitting room follows the same warm-toned colour palette used throughout the mountainside home, made even more inviting thanks to a wood burning fireplace and large woven rug. Sue created a lot of seating, using two sofas, two armchairs and floor cushions, footstools and even the ottoman can double up as extra seating space, if it is needed.

Guest Bedroom

Here, Sue gives us a masterclass in creating the perfect guest bedroom. There’s more than enough storage for luggage, belongings and spare blankets, ensuring the room will stay calm and clutter-free (and no one will be cold at night). The crisp, white bed linen makes for a comfortable night’s sleep with the cushions and folk-style rug adding a homely touch.

Bathroom

Go Tell It On The Mountain - Bathroom

The stunning free-standing bath is the ‘piece de resistance’ in this stylish bathroom. Sue selected a striking, minimalist tub without feet from CP Hart and furnished the room with shelves and trinket boxes, ideal for storing lotions, potions and accessories. A striking mirror makes a magnificent focal point, whilst the jute rug creates a deliciously soft surface to step onto after a bath.

Hallway

Go Tell It On The Mountain - Hallway

The moody, wood-panelled hallway is shadowy and subdued, except for the green velvet chairs and muted orange tones edging through the grand woven rug. Our hand-crafted games table is utterly unique and brings a sense of fun to the space, along with the quirky door handles and playing card collages.
