As you’ll see from the dining room design ideas below, the possibilities are endless. We’ve got plenty of interior design ideas for a dining room, whether you’re looking to create a modern dining space or pine for a rustic living area, complete with distressed oak furniture and comfortable, hand-woven seat cushions.

On The Wild Side

More of the courtyard appears in this verdant dining room: almost every square inch is adorned with plants and flowers, so even if it’s raining, Lucinda’s clients will still feel like they are sat outside in their garden. The colour white acts as a recurring motif, along with the rattan accessories and botanical prints. The oval-shaped dining table is just the right size for the space and its wooden finish is in keeping with the rest of the scheme.

La La Living

The dining room was designed around the ceiling hanging frame, which Sue decorated with elegant Verdigris jugs and lanterns in multiple sets to create a sense of balance. The kitchen is smart and sophisticated without being brutally modern and the natural touches, such as woven-detailing on the bar stools, give it a homely and inviting feel.

Life's a Beach

The relaxed theme of the home is continued in the dining room, where the balance of soft colours creates a down-to-earth feel. It’s the subtleties of each piece that creates the cohesive look here; the wooden frames of the prints perfectly match the chair legs and the pales shades of green were chosen carefully so as not to overwhelm the space. Annabel finished off the room with fig leaf tableware, a cantaloupe-inspired jug and coral and seaweed prints, which add a playful element.

Go Tell It On The Mountain

The star of this spacious dining room has to be the grand wooden table, with its sturdy structure and ornate base. In this chalet, Sue cared about every tiny detail down to the beautiful tableware, elegant glassware and hedgehog place settings. Our Washakie Chairs were chosen for their unusual dream-catcher style backs and dark wooden frames.

Battersea Power Station

When our founders designed this apartment, they wanted the interiors to feel traditional but with a modern twist, to match the exterior of the building. This is evident in the dining area, where the classic design was punctuated with our unique goat hair armchairs and each place setting was given a large flower head.

In The Eaves

A round table was purposefully chosen for this compact dining room, as it invites discussions and makes sure that no one feels left out. A majestic cabinet was picked to accommodate the client’s vast collection of china, along with a few new OKA designs. Last but not least, it wouldn’t be a home designed by Lucinda, without a beautiful bunch of faux flowers tying the look together.

The Big Green Apple

The dining area is next to a large window, so guests can enjoy sweeping views of Central Park over dinner. A large wooden table engulfs the space, perfect for Annabel’s clients, who love entertaining. Annabel decided to frame the table with a matching dining bench and a couple of the Washakie Chairs, as the piece can seat up to fourteen people, but fourteen chairs would make the space feel very crowded. Plus, the dining room also doubles up as a work space, so it needs to be airy and relaxed.

La Dolce Vita

Take a seat in Annabel’s warm blue dining room. ‘La Dolce Vita’ proves that there’s no need to be scant when it comes to statement pieces - a dark, rich wooden extendable dining table creates the perfect backdrop for glassware and faux coral accessories, whilst our blue velvet Stafford dining chairs echo the lakeside location of the apartment. The striped chairs add a dash of pizzazz, along with a grand mirror that makes the room feel bigger.
