Fairytale of New York

The ambient dining room is brimming with decorations; it wasn’t easy finding a Christmas tree as magnificent as the one by the Rockefeller Centre, but we came close with this shimmering show-stopper. The matching Stafford Chairs bring uniformity to this look and contrast exquisitely with the dark wooden dining table and colourful displays of butterflies, maple leaves and amaryllis flowers.

The city of Bath is prized for its unique mix of architectural styles. Sue wanted to reflect this in her dining room, so she drew inspiration from numerous design movements to create a bold, cohesive look. The marble chequered floor nods to Neoclassical interiors whilst furniture based on Chinese calligraphy adds a layer of interest. A yellow accent wall and Roman feature arches lighten the room, making it appear more spacious.

Nancy believed that oversized scale was more effective than undersized, so Annabel went bold with her dining room, furnishing it with a magnificent wooden table and expressive framed collages. She then incorporated colour by adding ceramics and a fleet of Stafford Dining Chairs in varying shades of green and blue.

The neutral palette of this grand dining room makes it an ideal backdrop for accessories in a myriad of colours. It was dressed for Christmas using faux foliage, tortoiseshell glassware and lots of LED candles. Animal decorations were placed at each setting as a fun nod to the nature theme.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

If you live in a spatially-challenged apartment, a small extendable dining table makes perfect sense. The Founders included the Tieva Gateleg Table in their look, as it’s ideal for cosy family dinners but can be drawn-out to fit guests. They switched up their seating, combining traditional wooden dining chairs with our space-saving Costellinis. After a get-together, these clever ottomans can be moved away from the table or into a different room.

More of the courtyard appears in this verdant dining room: almost every square inch is adorned with plants and flowers, so even if it’s raining, Lucinda’s clients will still feel like they are sat outside in their garden. The colour white acts as a recurring motif, along with the rattan accessories and botanical prints. The oval-shaped dining table is just the right size for the space and its wooden finish is in keeping with the rest of the scheme.

The dining room was designed around the ceiling hanging frame, which Sue decorated with elegant Verdigris jugs and lanterns in multiple sets to create a sense of balance. The kitchen is smart and sophisticated without being brutally modern and the natural touches, such as woven-detailing on the bar stools, give it a homely and inviting feel.

The relaxed theme of the home is continued in the dining room, where the balance of soft colours creates a down-to-earth feel. It’s the subtleties of each piece that creates the cohesive look here; the wooden frames of the prints perfectly match the chair legs and the pales shades of green were chosen carefully so as not to overwhelm the space. Annabel finished off the room with fig leaf tableware, a cantaloupe-inspired jug and coral and seaweed prints, which add a playful element.
