Life's a Beach

With its rugged, untouched beaches and laidback lifestyle, the Norfolk coast was the perfect spot to design a tranquil getaway. It was important for Annabel that all aspects of this home reflected its seaside location; wildlife-inspired prints and accessories paired with natural textures nod to the surrounding landscape whilst a neutral palette infused with subtle pastels adds a sophisticated twist.

Sitting Room

When choosing furnishings for this room, Annabel took care not to overpower its most striking feature; the floor-to-ceiling windows and their beautiful backdrop. The whitewashed wooden walls and floor create a light, airy aesthetic and a blank canvas for the windows to take centre stage. Soft shades of blue and green are used as accent colours, complementing the ocean views and tying the space together, whilst natural decorations, such as the artichoke candle holders and coral-inspired pot, serve as playful finishing touches.

Dining Room

The relaxed theme of the home is continued in the dining room, where the balance of soft colours creates a down-to-earth feel. It’s the subtleties of each piece that creates the cohesive look here; the wooden frames of the prints perfectly match the chair legs and the pales shades of green were chosen carefully so as not to overwhelm the space. Annabel finished off the room with fig leaf tableware, a cantaloupe-inspired jug and coral and seaweed prints, which add a playful element.

Master Bedroom

Life's a Beach - Master Bedroom

The master bedroom’s pastel colour palette was inspired by that of the painting which takes centre stage; a work from renowned artist Marie Laurencin. Subtly printed textiles in delicate shades of pink and purple, combined with the curved silhouettes of the lamp, armchair and dressing table create a look that is delightfully feminine.
