This paint takes its name from the ‘Quaker tints’ which were popular in the 19th century. Mixed with raw umber and yellow ochre earth pigments, with a hint of chrome yellow, it’s a sunny shade which is the perfect alternative to the usual off-white. It works beautifully as a welcoming hue in the hallway or paired with dusty greys and blues. Environmentally-friendly paint made from plants

Description & Details

Earth pigments mixed with white were used to make Quaker tints in the early C19th. Basically, they were coloured off-whites. I have made 50/50 raw umber and yellow ochre shade with a hint of chrome yellow to give it a sunny disposition. A great hall colour and can be used on woodwork to compliment strong colours. Equally at home on wood or plaster.
