Highland Fling

Annabel takes Scottish heritage as a point of inspiration to decorate her large countryside property. This stunning country home is furnished with recurring motifs such as tartan and faux animal heads to reflect Scottish heritage and culture. Rich hues of blue, dark green and purple populate the period property, and in every room, your eye is drawn to the stark light and dark contrast.

Hallway

To set the scene in her Scottish affair, Annabel uses a dark colour palette. Bottle greens, navy shades and hints of purple feature heavily in the hallway, paying homage to the breathtaking Celtic landscape. Hand-crafted in resin, the white faux animal heads take centre stage when set against a dark backdrop.

Dining Room

In this Scottish-themed dining room, your eye is drawn to the light and dark contrast. The table is the ‘piece de resistance’ in this atmospheric dining space and is decorated with antlers and foliage which complement the Scottish narrative. A majestic chandelier sits over the dining space, adding to the dramatic ambience.

Study

Make yourself snug in a study fit for a laird. Books line the wall from ceiling to floor and muted tones of rust and dusky blue ensure the room remains a reflective space. Take your pick from an assortment of comfortable velvet chairs to curl up in while pouring through your favourite read.

Boot Room

Different wooden pieces are layered in this practical yet inviting boot room, from the walls to the beams. The distressed gold picture frames add a regal edge to the scheme and mounted faux gazelle antlers raise a glass to Scottish heritage, along with the carved wooden lamp. The white wooden cabinet and rattan baskets work as practical storage space for muddy wellingtons and riding gear.

Master Bedroom

Appropriating the Scottish theme in a brighter setting, this bedroom is the perfect place to relax in after a day exploring. Annabel’s ‘Highland Fling’ features Celtic accessories which adorn the walls, mirrors and desk. Bold shades of blue and red are incorporated into the look through a tartan headboard, traditional rug and luxurious bed throws.
