La Dolce Vita

This chic, minimal apartment overlooking Lake Como is the epitome of luxury. ‘La Dolce Vita’ merges 1950s style with quintessential Italian glamour. Rich wooden furnishings and antique gold finishes work together to mirror the Mediterranean setting. As you wander around the house, you’re surprised with the most beautiful objets d’art, which give the rooms a surreal dreamlike quality. The bold blue-green and pink prints on the cushions, wallpaper and lampshades pull together the dominant colours used in the scheme.

Sitting Room

The sitting room features ornate gilded furniture and accessories inspired by 1950s décor. Bold printed cushions elevate a neutral L-shaped sofa, and, when paired with matching curtains and a striking modern print, bring the space together. Recurring geometric motifs appear throughout this scheme to create contrast and draw the eye, from circles (the mirror, side table and door handles on the art deco-style sideboard) to squares (the lamp, coffee table and contemporary rug).

Dining Room

La Dolce Vita - Dining Room

Take a seat in Annabel’s warm blue dining room. ‘La Dolce Vita’ proves that there’s no need to be scant when it comes to statement pieces - a dark, rich wooden extendable dining table creates the perfect backdrop for glassware and faux coral accessories, whilst our blue velvet Stafford dining chairs echo the lakeside location of the apartment. The striped chairs add a dash of pizzazz, along with a grand mirror that makes the room feel bigger.

Simple and stripped back furniture has been chosen to complement the bold wallpaper. 1950s-style Formica panelling and parquet flooring work well with an art-deco inspired cabinet and a modern acrylic console table. The room basks in sunlight and surrealism, found in the repetition of Annabel’s ogee print, the hints of red and a few elements which seem randomly drawn.
