For centuries, greyhounds have been immortalised on canvas, appearing in everything from Tudor art to early Renaissance works. This particular print depicts standing grey and black greyhounds. We gave the prints an aged, distressed look using a traditional ‘gesso’ technique, which involves carefully treating the rich fir wood frames with a ‘gesso’ primer then applying single strokes of paint and gold leaf to achieve the desired effect; the surface is then pared back a little to make them look antique.
