Spotlight On Our Recycled Wood Collection
Discover the fascinating origins of our recycled furniture pieces in this story that unites sustainability and artisanal skill.
The latest design in our collection upholstered ottomans, Palayam might look familiar - in fact, the pattern made its OKA debut on one of our rugs before being translated into this new form. Blending the best of classic and decorative patterns, chunky blue stripes and fine geometric motifs sit side by side in this modern textile, which is sreen-printed by hand onto a cotton dhurrie before being washed for a faded appearance. Each individual piece is then used to clad a mango-wood frame, and finished with brass studs and handles. As a finishing touch, tassels bring a sense of fun. The ottoman's heavy lid is supported by four slow-close sprung metal hinges, for an extra-smooth finish.
