The spherical turned legs of the Gwendolen are inspired by the popular bobbin furniture movement - otherwise known as spool furniture - of the late 17th century. This style had legs that were generally lathe-turned into ornamental shapes in order to make a feature of them. The padded top of the Gwendolen is upholstered in muted Dijon yellow linen, which enables it to be used as an extra seat as well as a surface. The bottom shelf features woven cane for added interest.
