Tarma, our popular 2-seater sofa (named for a city in the Peruvian highlands) has been reimagined with a new upholstery design, complete with playful tassels - these can be removed or reattached easily, as the mood takes you. The new pattern (which you may recognise from our Sheki Rug) was originally inspired by an antique rug we discovered in a market, and makes a beautiful, hand-embroidered upholstery fabric, too. In addition to their wonderfully original patterns, no two will be ever identical as they are completely handmade from scratch, from the frames that are crafted from traceable timber, to the cotton dhurrie upholstery that's handwoven and hand-dyed using eco-friendly pigments, to the hand-applied embellishments: the studs and playful tassels.

The Sheki pattern is inspired by a vintage rug discovered by our Co-Founder at an antiques trade market. Named after the ancient Silk Road city of Sheki, the design reflects OKA’s love of globally inspired patterns and decorative craftsmanship.
For day-to-day care, gently vacuum using a soft brush attachment and blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth (do not rub). Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sunlight; for deeper cleaning, use a specialist upholstery cleaner experienced with embroidered cotton.
