Proving that practical pieces can be decorative too, the Berenson Fire Fenders are endowed with something of an Art Deco appeal. Taking their name from an American art historian who aided art dealers and collectors during the 1920s and 1930s, the fenders - with their bronze-finished iron frame and Dark Vellum Italian leather upholstery - complement both traditional and contemporary schemes. Our leather is carefully chosen; its natural imperfections give it textural individuality, warmth and resilience. It has no synthetic top coat, meaning it will age beautifully over time, telling its own story.

A Real Page-Turner

We started as a mail-order interiors company with three women bringing truly unique designs from the East to interiors-lovers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur, invited two friends along on a sourcing trip: Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree includes time at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist.
